The installation
at corner details can be done, as with competing products, in
a “weave,” or “alternating” fashion
that eliminates the need for corner posts. This type of installation
makes for an authentic and lasting corner detail that closely
mimics real Cedar Shake, but without the fading, splits, and
early failure of the New Growth Wood Syndrome.
One great value of this product is in the cost, and ease of
installation. This product installs much like the traditional
clapboard and Fiber Cement Planks. The Nichiha Shakes more than
twice the thickness of competitors’ offerings. The cost
of the completed job is much less. FSI Restorations can
offer the same formidable and wide range of color details as
with any of our complete line of permanent exterior products.
The weight, however, is about the same as competitor’s
Shake offerings. There is a significant gain in the depth of the
details (about 60%), but with no added weight transferred to the
wall. This is because there is no head-lap on Nichiha’s
product. The typical Fiber Cement Shake Product has a full head-lap,
similar to shingled roofing material.
